The National Eating Disorders Collaboration is an initiative of the Australian eating disorder sector funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.

Vision and mission

NEDC is dedicated to developing and implementing nationally consistent, evidence-based system of care for prevention and treatment of eating disorders. NEDC's vision is that all people living in Australia experiencing disordered eating or an eating disorder can access an effective, consistent and equitable stepped system of care to provide the best chance of recovery. National Eating Disorders Strategy 2023-2033 provides a roadmap for improving Australia's response to eating disorders.

How NEDC can help

NEDC has created comprehensive, evidence-based information and resources which establish standards for prevention and treatment of eating disorders. NEDC implements these standards in system-building tools, workforce development initiatives and consultation.

Available via their website are links to sector wide initiatives and resources. Including free eLearning, national training database for upcoming training, self-paced online training database, clinical guidelines, collated resources for specific professional groups, the national training approvals process, and information to support system navigation.
