Griefline provides free accessible support and resources for Australians 18+ experiencing grief following a bereavement or a significant loss.

In November 2025, Griefline merged with SANE Australia. Griefline's programs and services now operate under the governance of SANE.

Vision and mission

Griefline's mission is to normalise grief by having courageous conversations and supporting communities to grow from loss.

How Griefline can help

Griefline programs and services help individuals navigate the complexities of grief and loss. They provide free, accessible support and resources to people 18+ Australia wide.

Information lines / help lines

  • Call the Griefline national grief and loss helpline on 1300 845 745, 9am to 8pm (AEST/AEDT) 7 days a week

Programs, apps and tools

  • Grief and loss resources: Tips, tools and articles to help you manage grief and loss
  • 24/7 online forums: Connect and share experiences with an emotionally supportive community
  • Bereavement counselling NSW: Online support in a group environment after the death of a loved one
  • Voluntary assisted dying (VAD) support program: Online support for families, friends and colleagues preparing for, and after, a loved one's VAD journey
  • Bereavement counselling (NSW): Free telephone counselling for bereaved adults aged 18+ living in NSW
