It is estimated that over 250,000 Australians are living with epilepsy and approximately 3% of Australians will experience epilepsy at some point in their lives. Up to 5% will experience a one-off or provoked seizure during their lifetime that is not diagnosed as epilepsy.

Vision and mission

Epilepsy Action Australia's vision is optimal outcomes for those living with epilepsy.

How Epilepsy Action Australia can help

Epilepsy Action Australia provides a range of resources and services to increase epilepsy awareness, knowledge and skills to improve the quality of life for people with epilepsy across Australia.

These include:

  • A National Epilepsy Line for information, assistance and advice,
  • Education and training for clients and family, community groups and professional education,
  • Online tools and resources, including the Online Academy and Ask an Expert video series,
  • Seizure management planning,
  • Peer support programs and online peer support groups,
  • Supporting research. We promote, partner and fund research into new interventions and treatments.

If you need support or answers, contact Epilepsy Action Australia on 1300 37 45 37 or email epilepsy@epilepsy.org.au. Epilepsy Nurses are Available Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
