Diabetes Australia

Visit the Diabetes Australia website
Diabetes Australia (Opens in new tab) was established in 1984 and is the national body for people affected by all types of diabetes and those at risk.

Diabetes is one of Australia's biggest health challenges. There are 2 million Australians living with diagnosed and undiagnosed diabetes and it costs the Australian economy $17.6 billion each year.

Diabetes Australia is a respected and valued source of information, advice and views utilised by government and the community. It works with people living with, or at risk of diabetes, their families and carers, health professionals, researchers, funders, other diabetes organisations and the community to positively change people's lives.

Diabetes Australia collaborates with state and territory diabetes organisations and administers the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) on behalf of the Australian Government.

Vision and mission

Diabetes Australia is dedicated to reducing the incidence and impact of diabetes on people, health systems and society.

How Diabetes Australia can help

Diabetes Australia provides practical assistance, information and subsidised products to more than 1.5 million Australians.

Diabetes Australia works to raise awareness about the seriousness of diabetes, promoting prevention and early detection strategies and advocating for better standards of care. Diabetes Australia is also a significant financial contributor to research into better treatments for diabetes and the search for a cure.
