Beyond Blue is one of Australia's most well-known mental health organisations, focused on supporting people affected by anxiety, depression and suicide. Their work empowers people at all stages of life to understand mental health, take action to seek support, and build resilience through information, resources and connection.

Vision and mission

Many Australians are affected by anxiety, depression or related conditions — personally or through those close to them. Beyond Blue is a national, independent, not-for-profit organisation that works to reduce the stigma of mental health, raise awareness, and ensure people can access the right support. Through government and community partnerships, they empower individuals with the tools, resources and understanding they need to support mental wellbeing and recovery, and to foster inclusive, connected communities.

How Beyond Blue can help

Beyond Blue collaborates with health services, schools, workplaces, universities, media, and community groups to deliver evidence-informed mental health support. They also partner with people who have lived experience of mental health challenges to co-design tools, resources and messaging that make help-seeking easier. Their strength lies in combining community insight, clinical evidence, and digital innovation to ensure timely access to information and services that support mental wellbeing and reduce the risk of crisis.

Beyond Blue's key result areas:

  • Increase awareness of depression and anxiety
  • Reduce stigma and discrimination
  • Improve help-seeking behaviour
  • Reduce the impact and disability associated with mental health conditions
  • Facilitate learning, collaboration, innovation and research
  • Operate information and support services, including phone and web chat
